Happy Halloween!

This TRESE story was put together by the one-man production crew of Melvin Arciaga. I first met Melvin online at DeviantArt. He sent me a message, asking permission to cosplay Trese. I said yes and half-expected to see pictures of a girl wearing a trenchcoat taken in some dark alley. The pictures and scenes that Melvin later sent me just blew me away. Couple of months ago, Melvin told me he'd like to do a four-page fumetti story featuring TRESE. He also made one request: his nephew Prince, a big Trese fan, wanted to appear in the story as an aswang. How could I say no to, probably, Trese's youngest fan. (Actually, he's a fan of the Kambal, according to Melvin.)

Anyway, this is just practice for Melvin, who's now gearing up to do a 200-page fumetti for his thesis. We've seen the preview art/pix and it looks great! Hope to eventually see that epic in some future Komikon!

Thadeus said, "This is my favorite local comic book right now. I love TRESE... everything in it, the story, the artwork is truly fantastic, marvelous. I'm a certified TRESE-fan. Anyway this fanart is dedicated to The Great Mr. Budjette Tan. A little side story of the artwork: Alexandra Trese is about to rescue a flock of fallen Angels from an evil syndicate that makes cologne and perfumes out of their tears. aaaw that's gotta hurt..."

Not a bad idea :)

Fans of the Kambal

Melvin posted : "[This is] my nephew, Prince. He insisted on having his photo taken wearing one of the Kambal's masks. His fave is Case 7: Embrace of the Unwanted and he's still forcing me to shoot another short horror film cause he wasn't able to play the aswang part on the first one we made last year."

This is a scene from TRESE: THE TRAGIC CASE OF DR.BURGOS.
It's amazing how they recreated the panel.
They even have the same bottles/jars in the background.

Who's your favorite TRESE? :)

Thanks to the cosplayers who took the time to comb their hair and dress up and bring our characters to life. Maybe when we launch the third book next year, you can all come and have a dance showdown!!!
